Chakras and Meditation

Journaling and the Root Chakra

Journaling is a great way to track the progress of your growth. Getting your thoughts and feelings onto paper can be helpful in identifying and releasing any thoughts or ideas that may be blocking you. Through metaphorical questions, you may develop an understanding of the comprehensive relationship between your chakra system and your organ systems. Pondering the questions reveals how the messages your body is sending you impacts your physical reality.

The root chakra is associated with elimination and the digestive system. Below are some metaphorical questions specific to the characteristics/qualities pertaining to the root chakra. By considering these questions, you are stimulating growth within your life as well as encouraging this energy center to flourish. Blockages can also be identified and released. Take time to reflect back on the questions periodically to see if the responses change.

1. What is your biggest fear and why?

2. How do you feel your life is off balance? How could you begin to restore that balance?

3. What do the physical symptoms you experience in your body say to you? In other words, do you see a relationship between what’s going on in your body and what’s happening in your reality?

4. Do you use nature to help you relax with activities such as hiking, swimming, or sitting in nature? How do you connect with Mother Earth?

The Root Chakra and Organ Systems

Specific types of movement can “speak” to each chakra and enhance its quality. If you are aware of trouble with any of the characteristics of the root chakra then certain movements may be a good way to begin opening the root chakra and encourage its light and spinning energy to be embraced. The result is increased groundedness and decreased fear.

For problems in the root chakra, the most effective type of movement is “earthy” movement and music. Examples of this type of movement include drumming, stomping the feet, and large, heavy movement of the legs and arms. African style of dancing is another excellent example.

The Root Chakra

The root chakra is associated with our groundedness and our ability to feel comfortable in our human bodies. The primal needs for survival and shelter are part of this energy system as well. The root chakra is our connection to the physical world. When we are born into our human bodies, it is this chakra that helps us understand all that comes with experiencing the physical world. The root chakra is associated with how we interact in group dynamics such as the family, work environments, communities, or any other situation where group interaction skills are used.

Energy and the Chakra System

To understand the chakra system, it is necessary to become familiar with the concept of ENERGY. Everything in the universe, including human beings, is made up of energy. Because we each vibrate at our own special frequency, we are unique as human beings. The chakra system is basically the energetic “roadmap” of the physical body. By getting in touch with our chakra system, we find each one holds its own messages and information that provides us with the opportunity to see where we may be blocked in our lives.

These blockages–be they physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual–are quiet indicators of how well we are living our lives, as well as where there may be room for improvement. We simply need to open our minds to evaluating the landscape.

The picture above illustrates the location of the seven chakra/energy systems in the human body. Another way to look at them is comparing them to the parts of a tree, with the root being at the bottom and the crown at the top in this order:

7. Crown Chakra – Top of the Head
6. Brown Chakra – Forehead
5. Throat Chakra – Throat
4. Heart Chakra – Chest
3. Solar Plexis Chakra – Stomach
2. Pelvic Chakra – Pelvis
1. Root Chakra – Base of the Spine

What is the Chakra System?

“Chakra” is a Hindu word that means “spinning wheel.” It is also known as the “wheel of light.”

Chakras are concentrated fields of energy where currents flow to feed all parts of the mind, body, and spirit. The seven chakra systems flowing through the human body each control a physical function, an emotional/personal quality, and a gland. The seven chakras are associated with a specific color and sound. Each chakra resonates with a specific gland in the body’s endocrine system allowing for its proper functioning in the body.

Empower Your Sexuality!

Did you know?

One out of three couples suffer from a low sex drive.

Twenty percent of married couples have sex less than ten times a year.

Low sex drive is the number one complaint brought to sex therapists.

Fifty percent of the population are lacking sexual desire.

Why is healthy, active, fulfilling sex missing in so many relationships? Are we too busy with life? Too tired? Too stressed? Headaches or “just not feeling very good?”

Finding your Voice

Connect with Julianna

Continuing with our earlier post this week regarding the throat chakra, I wanted to share some additional information.

Are you having trouble expressing your feelings? Having difficulty finding your voice? Trouble articulating your message or having the inability to connect with the Divine?

The throat chakra is the center that governs our speech and creative expression in the world. It’s health will determine how honest we are and how well we can express ourselves with the people around us. Through this chakra, we speak our truth, no matter how small or unimportant it may seem. This is where energy transforms into manifestations in the physical world. If you have trouble expressing yourself, if it is hard for you to share deep feelings, or if you have difficulty finding the words the throat chakra is likely out of balance.

Is your throat chakra blocked?

Enlighten Candles Arizona

In my practice, one of the energy centers that is blocked most in people is the throat chakra. We can not stand in our power fully unless we are able to clearly articulate what it is we feel and think. When we feel tongue tied or that our voice is not important, it stifles our ability to align with our truth. I encourage people to think about what their “truth” is and how they can begin to speak it.

Today on my video blog I want to talk about really the art of communication. And most of you know that I do a lot of spiritual work, I do a lot of intuitive work with individuals. And really part of my mission is about bringing the sense of spirituality and intuition into the mainstream. Ground it. Not allowing it to be out there and to be woo woo… or to be some special thing where you are sitting on a mountain doing ohm all day long, or just that select few that speak to dead people. We all have this spiritual intuitive essence about us. And when we take the time to listen to it a little bit more, our life just expands in a myriad of beautiful ways.

This is so much of what my mission is about and in bringing this down to earth and letting people know we can touch this part of ourselves in our busy day to day lives. It doesn’t mean we become super religious or we talk about spirituality all the time. Its really about tapping into a piece of ourselves that really is our birthright. And when we do it our creative genius explodes, our clarity becomes even bigger and more obvious, and our life becomes really more in balance. And today I want to talk about the throat chakra.
